When life deals you a duff hand…..

Don’t you just sometimes feel life you were born wrong when every relationship turns into a disaster…or maybe it is your partner that is the one who was born wrong! Whatever the case, I have had enough of being treated badly when I don’t deserve it. I have been cheated on so many times I have lost count, and let me tell you….there is nothing worse than being cheated on by your husband. Does marriage not mean anything anymore.

I don’t want to stereotype but all my previous disasterous relationships have been with builders from north london, I am not sure if this has any relevance to much at all but it is definitely worth noting.

Now I am fighting back and offering out advice to all those women out there (or men) who have to suffer this humiliation and heartbreak… so listen up!

When lists come good…

I used to hate writing lists. As a child with an unexplainable hatred of anything in list form, I was a nightmare: whenever I came across my parents'shopping list I’d cross things off just for fun, and whenever I saw anything which I thought was a list – words one after the other, underneath each other, even – I would turn into a serious trouble maker.

Nowadays I have bigger fish to fry, in the way of my belly. I have tried absolutely everything to shift my belly weight: doing press-ups, crunches, all kinds of strange Yoga positions and, of course, lots of jogging. Will it shift? Not a chance. The bizarre thing is that all my exercising has somehow made it even WORSE. Before my belly and the rest of me looked wrong. My belly was integrated into the wrong-ness. Now? It stands out like a sore thumb…or a flabby belly…I know which one I would prefer…

They answer all your questions there about everything you could possibly want to know…

Can you trust anyone in the media?

The recent phone-hacking scandal at The News of The World may have come as a surprise to you, but to me it only highlighted something which I already felt – and had been feeling – for a very long time: the fact that it is getting increasingly more difficult to trust what anyone in the media says. I mean…how can I trust what is being said when there have been so MANY instances in the past where our trust has been abused? From politicians to governments to tribunals to newspapers, the lies the media will tell are virtually unlimited. And these are the lies we actually HEAR about, don’t forget…so what about all the lies we don’t pick up on? I think if we knew the half of it then the statistics would be alarming at best…

In terms of The News of The World, I suppose we only have ourselves to blame, in a way. And if not ourselves then the society which we have become. Over the course of the last 20 years things have got so much faster, more instant, more in our faces. With that comes the pressure to earn money, and let’s face it: we want newspapers to feed us all the information we can get hold of. Really, we should be just as angry at ourselves for buying the papers to begin with. You do have to ask yourself: where does the moral line get drawn? When do we stand up and say “we admit it, we want to hear these filthy lies, no matter what cost to peoples’personal lives?”

the question of trust is one that has always been there – it’s just come much to the fore in recent times

Funny how annoyed we get when we feel our privacy has been breached, but how happy we are when we see it happen to other so-called ’famous'people…

I suppose, really, the question of trust is one that has always been there – it’s just come much to the fore in recent times, what with these shocking revelations.

Just remember, whether you’re in the designer suits business or you work for a catering company, if you read a newspaper then you’re basically saying it’s OK for the newspapers to act as they are and have been. The only true way to not be a part of the machine is to cut yourself off from it completely and go it alone. Though that comes at a cost, of course. The cost is the not knowing what’s happening in the world. For some people, that’s too much of a price to pay.

Go Through the Motherland, You Will Love it

Go Through the Motherland, You Will Love it

I deeply regret the fact that many young people have not actually seen the motherland and thus they cannot actually call themselves people who really love the home country. I recently met a Bulgarian person and we spoke for a while. I have my roots in this country and have visited it so many times, going around it for days and days, almost every year since I was born. We were discussing the various cultural features of the country and Read the rest of this entry »

Why I Wear Earplugs at Home…

Am I the only person on the whole of God’s green Earth who wants any peace and quiet? Because it most certainly feels like it a lot of the time!

Now, when you are sat in your own home, you would fully expect to have your share of tranquillity. Well, not where I live. It used to be like that, until a new family moved in next door… Read the rest of this entry »

Team work

Team work

You heard the saying there is no ‘I'in team, it is true. A team is a group of people who are able to bring ideas to each other and work solidly together. Teams that are successful know how to divide work.

People in a team have different roles to play. There is no reason for someone to feel inadequate on their team. To be a part of a team you do not need to have great education but just little Read the rest of this entry »

Everyone Meet Gareth, Gareth, This Is Everyone

Yesterday the phone rang and it was BT. Gareth from BT, actually. I wanted to cut him off but I couldn’t, because he had that strong Scottish accent that makes an English person chuckle and think “Isn’t it funny, the way he says certain words!”Gareth was a friendly man who wanted to chat for a while about whether or not I wanted to switch over to their high-speed Broadband service for only— Read the rest of this entry »

Split Down The Middle: GM Food

Split Down The Middle: GM Food

I didn’t want to think about GM food, but I couldn’t help it: I’d started watching Country House Rescue with that Ruth Watson woman and the guy she was trying to help was an ex-hippy on a mission to make everyone aware of GM Food (as well as make a profitable business…).

Anyway, the point is that once I started thinking about this I remembered an old friend called Paul Horton . Not a friend, I should stress, but someone Read the rest of this entry »
